1st Female apprentice

Olver electrical are proud to have taken on our 1st female apprentice. She started on the firm last December 07
She will be enrolling on a modern apprentiship coarse starting this Sept 08.

We’ve always had an active training program within the firm and having a female trainee seemed a great idea and all of are clients seem to agree.
We think this is a first in Callington and the local area?

Five employees have just finished a IPAF Mobile Vertical Boom operators coarse.

One employee has just completed his BPEC Unvented hot water storage systems coarse and water regulations.

Work completed Febuary to May 2009

Just completed several caradon council bathroom upgrades. These contracts were multi trade jobs which were all undertaken within the firm, showing our tiling and plumbing skills alongside the electrical installation.

Finished two new build projects at St Anne's Chapel on time and within budget.

Just finished the electrical first fix to an old Catholic church at Gunnislake, bespoke lighting scheme to the clients requirements led ,floor down lights, concealed lighting and ground flood lighting.

Just completed Dog Grooming Centre Callington.Works involved upgrading the supply to three phase, plumbing works connected with the shower installations computer cabling along with telecom cabling.Industrail ventilation using Vent Axia equipment. www.vent-axia.com

Finished a mini retail re-fit at Carnondown Spar Truro involving low energy down lighting modular retail lighting industrial ventilation again Vent Axia equipment. Contract involved a tight works program working with several different trades showing our flexible and efficient working practices.

Hillsborough residential home rewire including full fire alarm and emergency lighting upgrade nearing completion. Again works having to be carfully planned to ensure the home functions with very little disruption to the residents and staff. Health and safety issues an upmost importance.

Completed St Mellion holiday village sauna over heat protection works. This involved installaing an over heat thermostat within the sauna which controls a contactor to kill the supply if the sauna thermostat fails.

Completed emergency lighting and smoke alarm installions at St Mellion holiday village.Two multi occupency lodges were fitted with Aico radio link system offering a L2 system with next to no mess and significant labour savings as all the smoke alarms transmitt radio signals to each other to enable the sounders to operate.This system also has break glass points and test/hush switches to enable easy fault finding and stop nuesence sounder alarms. www.aico.co.uk/smoke.160.htm

Just completed a pristigeous five bedroom house in Callington with bespoke lighting scheme all designed within the company. We used led ,floor lighting , rope light , concealed lighting , low energy compact fluorescent lighting (CFL) all within the latest Part L building regulation reqiurements. We purchased led lighting from www.efficientlight.co.uk in Plymouth & www.johncullenlighting.co.uk for floor lights rope light etc.

Completed a domestic bungalow rewire on the Westover estate Callington.

Completed four more Caradon District Councill night store heater upgrades which also included removing the old central heating system(wet) and installaing new hearths and marble surrounds.Again all works carried out within the company.
